The Holidaze and A New Decade

As I said in the last post, we made it to Mississippi. We spent Christmas (actually Dec. 22) at Paw Paw's house with the family. It was nice seeing everyone. And it was nice to just hang out with the parents, siblings, and of course Parker for a few days.
The beautiful tree!Paw Paw reading to the kiddos. The boy loves to vacuum!
After that, we relaxed in Carriere. Mom took me and Anna Kay to see Paw Paw and Dad's Christmas light show. ha.. We spent Christmas Day at my parents'. The next day we drove to Pearl to have Christmas with Adam's family. Then, we drove to Grenada on Sunday to have Christmas with Daddy's family but we ended up at the hospital. My Poppa was put in the Oxford hospital for some complications. The doctors are pretty sure it's cancer, so if you're reading this, it would be appreciated if you sent up a little prayer for him. Thanks!
So, then Candace, Anna Kay, Adam, Parker and I went to New Orleans for Parker's first aquarium experience. I think he enjoyed the fish, oh excuse me, 'bubbles', that's what Parker called them. We also got to eat some yummy beignets. Mmmm.

Charlie was also introduced to my other favorite dachschund, Reggie, while we stayed in Carriere. They become BFFs very quickly.

We are now in Clarksville, TN in the process of looking for a place to live. We might be homeowners in a few days! We hope at least! I promise to post pictures. Until then, we are in hotel rooms because Charlie can't seem to get along with Adam's sister's dogs. Oh Charlie. I like Clarksville so far. It's a nice little town. I'm also looking for a job. I'm ready for a paycheck! Keep us in your prayers!

Love you all!

2 Fun Weekends and Traveling Home

So, I'm pretty terrible at updating this. Maybe, I'll get better once we settle down. Life's been pretty crazy since we left Virginia. I haven't updated since November? I think. But let's back up just a tad.
We had 2 fun-filled weekends in December before we left Virginia. I got tickets to see The Nutcracker by The Virginia Ballet on Saturday. And then, thanks to Daddy, we went to the Saints/Redskins in Washington on Sunday. Such a nice stadium. This is when it started snowing and I actually enjoyed it. ha

The next weekend we decided to go see our friends in New Jersey. Yes, Jersey. We didn't make it to the Jersey Shore, maybe next time. However, we did make it to Philadelphia. I highly recommend a trip there to anyone who likes history plus it's really nice. We saw the Libery Bell, Independence Hall, ate at the famous 'Geno's' , and went to the oddest museum call 'Body Worlds'.
Then, it was time to pack up and leave Virginia. I have to admit it was kind of sad leaving our first 'home' as a married couple. It was Charlie's first home too. awwwww lol. We enjoyed Virginia. It's beautiful there plus tons of places to visit.
So after Adam's graduation, we were on the road headed to Mississippi. Little did we know, there was a blizzard coming. About 3 hours down the road, Adam said to me 'we better start checking for places to stay. The road started icing over and we were towing my car behind his truck. It was a little scary especially when we slipped a few times. eeeek! So, we stopped at The Red Roof Inn for a couple of nights. We couldn't drive anywhere because the roads were terrible. So, we had Cracker Barrel for every meal because it was within walking distance. I probably gained about 5 lbs. there. ha!
We finally made it to Mississippi!

Down in Mississippi

I went home to MS last weekend and got home Thursday. Adam couldn't make the trip b/c of work (surprise haha) so, he insisted I just go ahead without him. He knew I wanted to see my fam. Great husband, I know. He assured me Charlie and him would be fine and, they'd just have a "guys weekend".

It was great to see my family of which some I haven't seen since July. This is a long time for us! Not much has changed in ol' Carriere, but then again, that's what I like about it. Mom, Candace, Anna Kay, Parker, and I went to the infamous street fair and saw a lot of, well, junk. But we didn't forget to get a funnel cake and some delicious lemonade! And if there's one thing I learned, it's that my nephew, Parker, loves to be pushed in a stroller or pulled in his wagon. So, that's what we did Saturday night. Oh, he also loves Reggie and I think, Reggie loves him too.

Mom also rode me through town to check out Paw Paw's new billboard. We 'thank he's loss his mind'. Ha! We love him oh so much!

It was fun hanging out with Momma and Parker during the week. I can't believe Parker is a little boy and not a baby anymore! I also met up with my 'Florida girls' in Hattiesburg Tuesday night. We had a good time even though it was a short time. They always make me laugh 'till it hurts. We talked of another trip to Florida for Anna Kay, Rachel, and Chelsey's graduation. It would be a lot of fun! I meant to get a picture, but I forgot to take it. Next time!
All in all, it was fun trip home. It's nice to see what everyone is up to. As I said, I flew home Thursday and I had the most terrifying flight from Cleveland to Richmond. We hit terrible turbulence that was unexpected. And yes, I freaked out a little bit. Thankfully, I made it home safely and I was so happy to see Adam. This is the first time we've been apart since we got married. I was also happy to see Charlie!
We're making plans for another move again! After Christmas, we'll be moving to Clarksville, TN. We're both really excited because it will be a lot closer to both of our families. I'm working on getting my TN teaching license, so I'm hoping I can find a job when we get there. We already have the dates set for the packers and movers. (The Army moves you from place to place which is nice.) So, we only have a month left in Virginia. It's been fun!
Before we move to Clarksville, we plan on spending Christmas with our families. We are especially looking forward to that! So, we'll be making the long trip home to MS with Charlie in tow. I hope he travels well!
Hope everyone is well!
Love, Ashley

So, We (meaning Ashley) decided to start a blog about us since we're away from our families and friends. (Also, to waste MORE time on the computer) Don't have much to blog about now, but stay tuned!
